Jean Claude Van Damme is back on the big screen.

The Belgian star has been high kicking his way across the cinema screens since the 1980s with over 30 film credits to his name.

But in his new film, JCVD, the 48-year-old doesn't pull any punches.

JCVD sees the action star playing himself in a parody of his life and movie persona.

It follows him through family dramas and as roles are snapped up by his arch rival.

The unexpected indie tale directed by Mabrouk El Mechri was shot entirely in Belgium using native actors and extras.
