Arsenal boss backs new captain

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his team is in good shape ahead of Sunday's derby against Chelsea.

The north Londoners could be boosted by the return of Emmanuel Adebayor for their visit to Stamford Bridge.

The Togo striker has only played 30 minutes in the last three league games since injuring his ankle at the start of November.

The Gunners, currently fifth in the table, are also monitoring the progress of midfielder Samir Nasri, out with a knee injury, and defender Bacary Sagna, suffering ankle trouble.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Ivory Coast forward Didier Drogba will miss the game serving out the second of a three-match domestic ban for throwing a coin at Burnley fans during the Blues shock League Cup defeat earlier this month.
