Star Jack Black spills the beans on his latest movie Tropic Thunder.

The new action comedy makes fun of the Hollywood industry.

The plot centres on a group of pampered actors with huge egos who sign up to star in the Vietnam War.

The director instead drops them into a real danger zone, with only their fake weapons.

Ben Stiller who stars and directs in the movie has been working on the script for a decade.

Jack Black, who plays a lowbrow comedy star suffering from heroin withdrawal, says Ben was a great director 'who never cracked the whip and infuriated me'.

Tom Cruise, Nick Nolte and Robert Downey Jnr also star in the parody film.

Black said of Cruise: "Tom and I never shared the screen, but I did see him at the read through a couple of years ago and he is very charismatic and funny."
