Rumours that Enrique Iglesias had split with his girlfriend can be traced back to the singer himself.

He pulled a prank on a reporter saying that his girlfriend of eight years, Anna Kournikova, had "kicked me out after some stupid fight".

"I got home and the bags were outside and everything. It was horrible."

The Latin superstar's joke went as far as saying he had no idea when he was going to see her again.

"I'm living in a hotel right now."

He says he is not even sure where he will spend Christmas.
