Turtle wins miracle fight for survival
A miracle is quietly taking place in Mexico.
After decades of over-hunting on the shores of the Pacific ocean, the Olive Ridley turtle has been rescued from the brink of extinction.
Co-operation between the local community in La Escobilla and the central Government has secured its future.
Local inititives to protect turtle nests and encouraging tourists to watch the annual hatching have boosted conservation funds.
It now seems this species of turtle will have a safe future in the hands of the local community.
