Mowers cut above the rest
Motorsport enthusiasts have battled it out to win a prestigious 12 hour lawnmower race.
This year's race, in Pulborough in West Sussex, was dubbed 'the grass roots of motorsports' and 56 teams raced overnight to claim top honours in the most prestigious lawnmower race on the planet.
Three different classes of lawnmowers race: traditional with seat; buggy; and then mini-tractors.
The overall winner is the team completing the most laps but for safety reasons all the blades are removed for the 13km race.
Each team has three drivers who swap periodically and there is a pit lane where teams refuel and carry out the inevitable repairs.
The Promo Racing team claimed the title for the first time after they completed a staggering 388 laps.
