'Prince of Tightrope' bags two world records
The man dubbed China's "Prince of Tightrope" has reportedly broken two world records with a dizzying display 1,600 metres above sea level.
The country's Xinhua state news agency says Ahdili Wuxiuer, an ethnic Uyghur, successfully crossed a 1,530 metre-long tightrope on Sunday.
He was not alone as he balanced precariously 400m above two lakes in the mountainous region of Kanas, however, because his apprentice Saddar was also part of the act.
First, Adhili walked backwards, before carefully turning around and walking towards the centre of the valley, where he was joined by his pupil. The two men had not previously discussed how they would pass one another, according to the report.
But, to the terror of some onlookers and in high winds, Ahdili managed to pass Saddar - at the second attempt - by stepping on his chest as he lay back against the wire.
According to the report, Ahdili's feat created two Guinness records - performing a walk at the highest sea level, and doing it while passing another person on the wire.
