World Cup inspires dreams in Rwanda The World Cup trophy has arrived in Rwanda.

It was presented to cheering crowds in Kigali as Rwanda became the latest stop on its global tour.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame joined the public in the stands at the Amahoro National stadium where the prize was presented.

After its unveiling, Kagame told the crowd the coveted trophy inspired hope.

He said: "I think we will win it one day and bring it here forever", after lifting the prize in the air.

Rwanda did not qualify for the World Cup but the solid gold trophy is set to visit 86 countries during a 225-day tour, allowing thousands of fans to enjoy rare access to the prize.

It will visit every nation in Africa as well as others around the globe before reaching its destination of South Africa in 2010.
