Craig Phillips on life after Big Brother

The first winner of Big Brother has been talking about the release of his autobiography.

Mild-mannered Craig Phillips, 37, shot to fame in 2000, since when he has been putting his experience as a builder to good use, by appearing in a string of TV home makeover shows.

He says he wasn't tempted to pen his autobiography - Building Beyond Big Brother - when his profile was still sky-high, because he didn't feel he had done enough with his life to make it a decent read.

He said: "Initially when I first came out of Big Brother, lots of people were asking me 'am I going to write a book' and i didn't feel as if I had enough stuff to talk about then.

"But now it's coming up to ten years since the first Big Brother, I've worked on over 800 TV shows and had a wonderful experience of all different things and it just felt like this would be the right time to actually write it now."
