Cult TV show Heroes returns
The Cult US TV show Heroes has returned for a second series.
UK fans have been eagerly awaiting the comeback of their favourite characters Clare, Hiro and Matt to name but a few.
It tells the story of ordinary individuals who discover that they have superhuman abilities and explores how they adapt to changes these abilities bring and their roles in preventing catastrophes and saving humanity.
The show has made superstars of actors Milo Ventimiglia and Adrian Pasdar who play the Petrelli brothers.
In the last series Ventimiglia, who plays care nurse Peter Petrelli, was persuaded that he needed to "save the cheerleader" to protect the future of the planet.
This series contains just 11 episodes out of the planned 24 episodes due to the the Writers' Guild of America's strike action.
Ventimiglia's character in the show has the talent to absorb others' abilities by standing beside them, and the first series saw Petrelli coming to terms with this.
Heroes has gained critical acclaim and on Sunday it won the Best International Programme at the Bafta Awards. However, when it was first aired in the US in 2006, critics picked it apart.
Ventimiglia has also appeared in TV hits such as The Gilmore Girls and films including Rocky Balboa.
