Geremi poised to join Newcastle

Former Middlesbrough midfielder Geremi could be on his way back to the north-east with Newcastle.

The Cameroon international has only started 48 of Chelsea's first team games over the last four years and he was played out of position last season as a makeshift right-back.

Geremi will become Sam Allardyce's fourth summer signing

Reports claim Geremi has agreed a three-year deal at St James's Park and will move in a deal worth £2 million.

He will become Sam Allardyce's fourth summer signing following the captures of Mark Viduka, Joey Barton and David Rozehnal.

Newcastle are also close to signing Edmilson from Barcelona.

The club have been given permission to talk to the Brazil international, who is recovering from a knee injury.
