Cat turns jet-setter

A Canadian cat has turned business traveller after jumping into a suitcase before her owner jetted off to a conference.

Ginger is the much-loved pet of the Martell family in Canada - a house cat that is not allowed outdoors.

Ginger got as far as the airport baggage scanners and security officers spotted the odd shape in the suitcase, but Mrs Martell convinced them that all was well

So with her front door escapes constantly thwarted, Ginger decided to try something different.

Her owner Mary Martell packed a suitcase for a business trip and brought it downstairs but without closing it fully and Ginger jumped in.

Ginger got as far as the airport baggage scanners and security officers spotted the odd shape in the suitcase, but Mrs Martell convinced them it was coat.

Her suitcase was cleared unopened and loaded onto an Air Canada jet for a two-hour trip to Toronto. Several hours later, in a hotel in Niagara, Martell finally unpacked and discovered Ginger.
