Wembley Stadium is to launch an internal inquiry into the fiasco that has left hundreds of executive club fans waiting for their tickets for Saturday's FA Cup Final.

Tickets for Premiership champions Manchester United's end-of-season showdown with Carling Cup winners Chelsea were scheduled to be sent out on Monday. But a computer glitch means staff are still trying to clear the backlog.

"We our couriering out most remaining tickets today and have given people the option of ticket collection so they are received in good time for the Cup Final" - Wembley spokesperson

Around 400 of the 6,000 individuals and companies who have spent up to £10,000 on ten-year licenses that allow them to purchase tickets for matches at Wembley still do not know if they will be able to get into the first showpiece at the new-look Wembley.

A spokesperson said: "A number of Club Wembley tickets were not delivered yesterday as previously promised. We apologise to the members concerned and will contact every individual affected.

"We our couriering out most remaining tickets today and have given people the option of ticket collection so they are received in good time for the Cup Final.

"We are very sorry that this has happened and will be conducting internal inquires to make sure this doesn't happen again to our valued customers."
