Rocco Barroco styles Cuba
Italian fashion big-wig Rocco Barroco has presented his first-ever show in Havana, Cuba, and was taken by the famous Latin American curves.
Using a line-up of fresh talent from the island, Barroco put his Summer 2008 collection on show.
"For me this is an immense pleasure, because these boys and girls have beautiful bodies. It is a pleasure to see them dressed in European fashion," Barroco said.
Presented in the gardens of the luxurious Hotel Nacional, the show was open to a small gathering of artists, designers and Cuban models.
Borroco is the biggest fashion name to have visited Cuba in some time.
It has been years since the likes of Pierre Cardin and Paco Rabanne graced the island.
"I didn't know Rocco but he is a tremendous designer and a good stylist, and I am really happy to be here in the company of such important models," said one male Cuban model, Sergio Medina.
"I am happy they accepted me on the casting, and also because I am working with such an important Italian designer," said one female Cuban model, Sunami.
On the catwalk, it was a white, black and red collection for women and men with a lot of crystal, sparkling and silver accessories.
