Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell has recorded a song to raise awareness about climate change.

The recording of Funeral Blues took place at the UK's only solar-powered recording studio and was in support of The Big Ask - a Friends of the Earth climate campaign.

"I saw An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore's film, and I got inspired to get in touch with Friends of the Earth" - Johnny Borrell

Borrell said: "I saw An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore's film, and I got inspired to get in touch with Friends of the Earth. So I just phoned up and said 'Hi, I'm Johnny from Razorlight. What can I do to help out?"

Other carbon-conscious artists who have recorded at Studio A include Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Klaxons and Lily Allen.

The British singer also took part in a number of activities aimed at highlighting climate-friendly alternatives.

He tested out an electric scooter and also prepared lunch with TV chef Oliver Rowe at his restaurant, Konstam. Oliver sources most of the food he uses in the restaurant from within greater London - cutting down on food miles.
