Spice Girls expected to announce tour

The Spice Girls will make an official announcement about their "future plans" next week.

Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown will make their announcement next Thursday, following recent speculation of a new album and a concert tour.

Posh, Scary, Baby, Sporty and Ginger formed in 1994, before eventually splitting in 2001.

A statement issued from Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment, which represents the band, said: "Following weeks of speculation, the Spice Girls are set to make an official announcement to the world regarding future plans on Thursday June 28.

"No further information can be given at this time but given the bands unique history, you can be sure to expect the unexpected! Details regarding the announcement will be released in the coming days."

The group split in February 2001 but there have been recent rumours of a reunion tour.
