Corden's kit off in spoof

At first glance he may not look like model material, but Gavin and Stacey's James Corden is giving it his best shot anyway.

The television celebrity has stripped down to a pair of Armani pants to recreate David Beckham's famous underwear advertisement in a photo-shoot for Heat Magazine.

Corden has perfected the moody pose on suitably crumpled sheets, but differences to the Beckham picture appear with the much larger torso and the suspiciously well-stuffed pants.

In another shot, Corden mimics the famous Herb Ritts photograph of a shirtless male model holding a pair of tyres.

The 29-year-old has become hot property recently with the success of Gavin and Stacey, which he co-wrote.

His star power has been exemplified by his reported romantic links with singer Lily Allen.

He told Heat: "I feel like I shouldn't say anything. The minute I do, it's just going to create more interest. She gets talked about enough and I don't think I'd be much a of a friend if I discussed it."

However, "Corden was happy to admit that, "ever since I've been at school I've always done all right with girls."
