Jolie lined up for Cruise role
Angelina Jolie is reportedly in negotiations to replace Tom Cruise in spy thriller Edwin A Salt.
Screenwriter Kurt Wimmer will redraft the screenplay, about a CIA officer who must prove she is not a Russian sleeper spy out to assassinate the president to suit Jolie.
The project has a long history with directors coming and going, though Cruise has long been associated with it.
The new film has yet to go into production and is not expected to be released until at least 2010.
Prior to this, Jolie played an assassin in Wanted with the film earning about $250 million at the box office.
She is also touted for another film Atlas Shrugged but it is unclear whether she will star in both.
Last month Jolie gave birth to twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon in France.
