Not many prisons can boast an exclusive restaurant within their walls.

But behind these bars Italian inmates have turned into cooks and waiters.

Under the watchful eye of armed guards inmates swap their prison stripes for shirts and bow ties and lay on a six course candlelit dinner for for curious diners - eager to get a taste of prison life.

The guests apparently do not let the fact that robbers and murderers are serving them ruin their appetite.

The prison turns into a restaurant for only a few days a year.

It is hoped it will teach inmates skills which could help them find a job after jail.
