Matt Damon has signed up for a fourth instalment of the Jason Bourne franchise.

The Hollywood star is to reprise his role as the super spy after The Bourne Ultimatum picked up three Oscars at this year's Academy Awards.

Damon had hinted that last year's third film would be the final part of the franchise.

But Universal has announced that another Bourne chapter is in the pipeline, although it gave no firm deadline for a release.

Director Paul Greengrass is also expected to lead the project after taking helm for the last two movies.

The Bourne Ultimatum picked up Academy Awards for sound mixing, sound editing and film editing.
