Murder hunt police release picture
Police hunting the murderers of a Chinese couple found dead in their flat have released another picture of a man they wish to speak to.
The bodies of the former students Xi Zhou and Zhen Xing Yang, both 25, were found on August 9 in their flat on Croydon Road, Newcastle.
Police believe Mr Zhen, known as Kevin, was tortured for up to an hour before he was hacked and stabbed to death by his killers, who then turned on Wagamama noodle bar waitress Mrs Xi, who was known as CiCi.
Detective Superintendent Steve Wade, leading the investigation, said: "Following an appeal, where murder squad detectives issued an artist's impression of a Chinese man seen with two other people outside 8, Croydon Road, a new witness has come forward.
"The new witness is able to confirm seeing three men and has given an accurate description of one of the men which is very similar in appearance and clothing to the previously released artist's impression.
"In addition she was able to give a description of the other two men."
The second man is described as Chinese, 5ft 8in to 6ft tall, stocky build and aged about 43. He had combed back black hair which is described as short.
The witness gave a partial description of the third man who is described as Chinese, of average build, with short black hair which looked like it was brushed backwards and was greasy or wet.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
