A huge police presence will be on the streets of Wigan as Manchester United attempt to retain their Premier League title on Sunday.

Premier League and Greater Mancheter Police (GMP) officials have launched a huge operation with double the number of officers on duty, as an anticipated worldwide audience of almost half a billion viewers looks on.

United sold their 5,000 official allocation weeks ago, but police now fear double that number of United fans will arrive for the game

Reports suggest Wigan supporters are cashing in on United fans' desire to see the game with some selling their tickets for between £300 and £450 on auction website eBay.

United sold their 5,000 official allocation weeks ago, but police fear double that number will arrive for the game with many sharing the same areas of the JJB Stadium as Wigan supporters.

It is thought around 20,000 more could make the short journey to Wigan and be locked outside the ground.

GMP has rated the game category C, high risk, and are urging fans without tickets not to travel.
