Royal newborn leaves hospital

A beaming Earl and Countess of Wessex have left hospital with their newborn son.
Waving to well-wishers, Sophie, 42, left Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey with her husband Edward and their new arrival who was wrapped snugly in a white blanket.

Queen Elizabeth's youngest son commented on the cold and wished everyone a happy Christmas after putting his son into a baby seat in the back of a waiting chauffeur-driven car.
The new baby, yet to be named, is the Queen's eighth grandchild and was born by caesarean section.
The royal couple already have a four-year-old daughter, Louise.
