Chelsea have agreed to sell Holland winger Arjen Robben to Real Madrid.

The winger has been linked with the Spanish champions throughout the summer but Chelsea have always said they are keen to keep him.

The transfer appears to pave the way for Daniel Alves to join Chelsea

Robben has two years left on his Chelsea contract and the deal could allow Jose Mourinho's team to make another swoop before the transfer deadline at the end of the month.

Chelsea have been trying to sign Brazil defender Daniel Alves from Sevilla for months, but they faced competition from Real.

It has been suggested the Real could drop their interest in Alves if Chelsea allow Robben to move to Spain.

Robben's imminent transfer appears to pave the way for Alves to move to Stamford Bridge.
