A Glaswegian teenager is setting her sights on becoming one of the most groundbreaking artists of the year.

Amy Macdonald's first single Mr Rock and Roll will be released in July through Mercury Records, and she explained the song is all about being yourself.

She said: "I wrote that song about if you're trying to be something that you're not just to fit in, then you might miss amazing opportunities that might pass you by.

"You might miss meetings with amazing people just because you feel like you have to fit in elsewhere."

Having finished touring with Paolo Nutini, she'll go on the festival circuit where she'll make her debut at Glastonbury.

"I love playing live, that's why I started doing this," she said. "Playing live is the best part of it really, when I've got my band with me as well. It's really amazing, it's a great feeling."
