Mr Brown is said to be distraught about losing his rights to see his 14-year old daughter Bobbi Kristina.

In papers issued to the court, the former R&B star claims that he was "too strapped for cash" when his wife first filed for divorce last year so could not afford to hire a lawyer to help him fight for custody of his daughter.

Since his divorce Mr Brown has admitted that he has been homeless but has still not shied away from controversy.

During recent filming for a new British chat show, the rapper threatened to "f* up" the presenter.

ITV's 24 Hours With... starts next month and features famous faces spending a day being quizzed by host Jamie Campbell in a Big Brother-style house. The 24 hours are then edited into 24 minutes.

The episode with Mr Brown turned nasty when the star joked that the experience was "going to be like prison".

When Mr Campbell joked: "I haven't tried any sex moves yet" an enraged Mr Brown jumped off the sofa.

He replied: "What do you mean, yet? Do you know I will f* you up in here? On live TV I will f* you up. Trust me."
