Chambers ranks among Olympic favourites
Dwain Chambers's performance at the British Olympic Trials would probably be good enough to earn him a place in the 100 metres final in Beijing.
The sprinter's winning time of 10.00 seconds ranks him 11th in the world this year, but only six of the athletes who have run faster will be competing in the Olympic Games.
Each country is limited to three entries per event and seven of the athletes that have run faster than Chambers this year are from the United States.
Chambers will be in the High Court on Wednesday, appealing for an injunction to temporarily lift his lifetime ban from the Great Britain Olympic team because he has failed a drugs test in the past.
If an injunction is granted, he will be one of the favourites to reach the 100 metres final.
And Chambers has been given support by Ed Moses, who won Olympic gold twice in the 400 metres hurdles.
Moses said: "I don't like the fact that Dwain has had a positive test, but, from an athletes' rights point of view, you have to stand up for him on this matter.
"If the IOC allow him to compete then there shouldn't be any reason why he cannot go to the Games.
"He's served his penalty having tested positive and he's been a lot more contrite in the last six months."
