Sir Bobby backs Magpies to stay up

Former England and Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson has backed Newcastle to beat the drop.

He said: "They're having a difficult time at the moment but there's enough in the team that I've seen which in my opinion will make them secure.

"I can't see them getting relegated. They're playing now with a bit more spirit and competitiveness and I'm sure that they'll do well."

Asked about his battle with lung cancer, Sir Bobby said: "I've had a lot of kindness and generosity."
