US student tasered during Kerry debate
Police at a US university have used a stun gun on a student during a speech by former presidential candidate John Kerry.
Andrew Meyer became disruptive while asking Mr Kerry why he conceded the 2004 election to President George W Bush.
Videotape of the incident shows six police officers pulling Mr Meyer from the auditorium at Florida University.
He was pinned to the floor when police used the taser gun on him. Mr Meyer is heard on the tape screaming as the police jolted him with a surge of 50,000 volts.
Senator Kerry was making an appeal to students to get involved in a changing society when the incident occurred.
Mr Meyer spent the night in jail booked on one felony charge of resisting an officer with violence, as well a lesser charge of disturbing the peace. He will appear in court later.
