Sean Connery slams tourist chiefs
Sir Sean Connery has hit out at the Scottish tourist board for backing Hollywood movie Shrek.
The move comes after they snubbed his own homegrown animated film Sir Billi The Vet.
VisitScotland created a special tartan for the giant green ogre, voiced by Mike Myers in a Scottish accent.
But Sir Sean questioned why tourist bosses had not provided similar support to his latest project.
He said: "I just can't believe it and am totally shocked that our own national tourist board is behaving in such a way when they have such an innovative and creative product on their doorstep, with such immense Scottish talent involved.
"It is deeply insulting not even to have been consulted about getting involved in how we could assist VisitScotland."
Sir Billi The Vet has a budget of just £6 million and Sir Sean, 76, gave his time for free.
He voices the lead character, a vet with balding head and silver beard who bears a striking resemblance to the 007 star himself.
Sir Billi The Vet is set for release next summer.
