British soldier killed in Basra

A British soldier from the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment has been killed in Basra, southern Iraq, the Ministry of Defence has said.
The soldier died as a result of injuries sustained by an improvised explosive device attack after a Warrior vehicle patrol was attacked while carrying out routine duties in the Mustashfa district of Basra City.
The MoD said the soldier's next of kin have been informed.
