Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is helping to raise money for a music school.

The star staged a concert with his bandmates to raise funds for the Silverlake Music Conservatory.

"We just need to raise money to keep paying the teachers to give the free lessons to the kids" - Flea

He said: "It's a school that I started about five years ago, and it's just a flourishing place.

"We're a non-profit school, we have about 600 students, and it's very affordably priced music education, or it's free if you can't afford it.

"We supply instruments, and we just need to raise money to keep paying the teachers to give the free lessons to the kids and to raise money to buy instruments so we can give quality instruments to the kids and teach them how to play music."

The school is holding its third annual Hullabaloo fundraiser concert.
