X Factor four to quit
X Factor quartet G4 have reportedly split up because of tensions within the group.
The classically-trained singers, who have had three platinum-selling albums, were runner-up on the popular ITV show in 2004.
But tenor Ben Thapa, 25, has revealed that members of the group have been finding it difficult to work together.
He said: "We did not want to drag on for another couple of years, growing increasingly resentful of each other. We are still friends and want to stay friends but we won't if we carry on in G4.
"We have had a great two-and-a-half-years. We've sold a million-and-a-half albums and will have done four sell-out tours and we don't want to cheat our fans by not being able to give G4 110 per cent commitment," he added.
It is thought the opera stars will complete their duties as a group, including their upcoming UK tour but will go their separate ways after that.
