A host of celebrities turned out for the London premiere of the new musical featuring the hits of Take That.

TV personalities Denise van Outen, Paul O'Grady, Gaby Roslin and Johnny Vaughan and actors Ross Kemp and Michelle Collins were among those at last night's opening of Never Forget at the Savoy Theatre.

Written by Bafta award winner Danny Brocklehurst, of Shameless fame, and Guy Jones and Ed Curtis, the musical is based on the formation and eventual success of a Take That tribute band.

Set in Manchester, it follows the journey of a young man called Ash who dreams of making it big and saving his mum's pub.

But he is faced with a choice of whether to go it alone or stick close to the other bands members.

Take That have refused to endorse the multi-million pound extravaganza. But record label EMI licensed the songs to the producers of the musical in 2005.

It features the hit songs Back For Good, Babe, Never Forget and Pray.
