Garcia ready to leave Liverpool

Liverpool manager Luis Garcia is expected to sell midfielder Luis Garcia to Atletico Madrid.

The Spain international's agent Manuel Garcia Quillon said he will complete his move this week and it has been suggested Garcia would be involved in a swap for Fernando Torres.

"The deal should be completed either today or tomorrow" - Manuel Garcia Quillon

Garcia Quillon said: "We are working on Luis Garcia's permanent transfer to Atletico de Madrid.

"If all goes well, the deal should be completed either today or tomorrow."

Garcia moved to Liverpool in 2004 from Barcelona and he was part of the team that won the Champions League a year later.

He suffered a serious knee injury in January and has not played since the 6-3 defeat by Arsenal in the League Cup.
