Baby pulled from river dies

A baby who fell into a river with her mother and sister has died.
The ten-month-old girl, who was rescued from the River Thames, near Goring, in Oxfordshire, was initially declared dead early Wednesday after she was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford.
Police confirmed, in the early hours, she had died after several hours in a critical condition
But there were later hopes for her survival when doctors detected a faint heartbeat.

A Thames Valley police spokesman said: "Police were contacted by staff at the JR2 Hospital in Oxford reporting that the ten-month-old girl had passed away."
