Chelsea captain John Terry has thrown his backing behind Didier Drogba in the wake of the Ivory Coast hitman announcing that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge.

Drogba's remarks in a French publication last week stunned the Blues but he has since reaffirmed his commitment to the west Londoners.

"Obviously it is very difficult now for us to get through but I believe we still can. There are three games left and we must win all three, but we can do that" - Rafael Benitez

Last season's top scorer in the Premier League has found the net in each of his last three games for Chelsea, including in their 2-0 Champions League Group B win over Schalke 04.

And Terry, who is battling to regain fitness following knee surgery, has followed Petr Cech in showing his support for the Ivorian.

The Chelsea and England captain said: "Didier is a winner, he wants to win for Chelsea, everyone knows that and we all know he loves the club. As long as we stay together as players, that's what matters. Then we will be alright."

Drogba's 47th-minute header against Schalke doubled the advantage given to Chelsea by Florent Malouda's fourth-minute opener at Stamford Bridge and leaves Chelsea a win away from cementing their position in the knockout stages of the competition.
