Gerry and Kate McCann are considering making a film about the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.

A meeting is said to have taken place last month with representatives from IMG agency, although Mr and Mrs McCann did not attend.

The couple's spokesperson said the film would only go ahead if the parents were sure it would help raise awareness and bring in more funds to help find their daughter.

The couple's spokesperson said the film would only go ahead if the parents were sure it would help raise awareness and bring in more funds to help find their daughter.

He said: "If we feel any particular proposal in the media has validity in helping us find Madeleine, we are happy to discuss it.

"The media are making money out of the situation themselves and we feel it is only fair and right that some aspect of that should come to the fund to help find Madeleine."

Madeleine disappeared from a holiday apartment in Praia de Luz in Portugal in May.

Since then the McCanns have mounted a tireless publicity campaign to try and find her.
