Shrek film premieres in LA

The glittering cast of Shrek the Third have been treading the green carpet in LA for the film's premiere.

Antonio Banderas, Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Dame Julie Andrews were in attendence - but all eyes were on Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake.

Shrek the Third opens in the US on May 18

It was the first time they've been photographed together since they broke up last year.

The latest installment sees Shrek (Mike Myers) in line to become the next king after Princess Fiona's (Cameron Diaz) father dies.

But he is reluctant to take to the crown, and embarks on a quest to find royal relative Arthur, (Justin Timberlake), while Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) has his own evil agenda.

Eddie Murphy, who voices Donkey, said: "I would do Shreks as long as they called me and asked me to be part of it. It's a really easy job to do, and the movies are well received, they're done well."

Shrek the Third opens in the US on May 18.
