Mandela concert line-up revealed

The official line-up for Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebrations in London has been revealed.

The former South African president will make a rare public appearance for the Live Aid-style concert joined by some of the biggest names from the worlds of pop and politics.

Proceeds will go to Mr Mandela's 46664 campaign

Leona Lewis, Queen and Paul Rodgers, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, the Sugababes, Dame Shirley Bassey, Razorlight, and Jamelia are all confirmed.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former US President Bill Clinton, talk show queen Oprah Winfrey and British Formula One star Lewis Hamilton are among those expected to attend.

Proceeds will go to Mr Mandela's 46664 campaign which raises awareness about Aids in Africa and elsewhere, taking its name from the former president's prison number during his captivity on Robben Island.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday from www.livenation.co.uk. Applicants must pre-register at www.46664.com.
