Giant pandas settle into new home
Three giant pandas evacuated after the China earthquake are settling into to their new home.
The two-year-old females were moved to Yunnan Zoo, in Kunming, after being evacuated from the famous reserve in Woolong when Sichuan province was ravaged by the quake.
Si Jia, Mei Qian and Qian Qian will remain at the base for a period of around two years and will be under close medical supervision while fed a special diet of bamboo, fruits and vegetables.
Authorities say 61 pandas have, or will soon be, moved to other Chinese wildlife parks.
Meanwhile, eight other pandas given to Beijing Zoo as part of the city's Olympic celebrations, have already become accustomed to their new home.
The group are even receiving daily Mandarin lessons after struggling at first to follow commands from their new handlers.
Authorities say the rest of the panda evacuations are expected to be completed in a month.
