Madonna treads Cannes red carpet
Pop star Madonna will talk at the Cannes Film Festival about her new documentary I Am Because We Are.
The documentary which is about children orphaned by Aids in Malawi had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
The film features interviews with Bill Clinton among others and shows a stark picture of desperate poverty and children orphaned by Aids.
It also highlights how education can help the situation.
Madonna said: "To say that this film is a labour of love is true, but that's kind of trivial because really what it is, is a journey of a lifetime."
After the talk, Madonna will be joined by a host of other A-list stars at a fundraising event for amfAR, the Foundation for Aids Research, which is dedicated to the support of prevention of infection, treatment education and sound Aids-related public policy.
The guest list also includes Sharon Stone, Mischa Barton, P Diddy, Liz Hurley, Cannes jury president Sean Penn, Christian Slater, Quentin Tarantino, Donatella Versace, Dita Von Teese, Harvey Weinstein, Sir Cliff Richard and Guy Ritchie.
