Ritchie turns 40
Film director Guy Ritchie is celebrating his 40th birthday but no-one knows how large the party will be.
He has already celebrated a milestone birthday this year: wife Madonna's 50th. But don't expect a Madonna-sized bash.
Ritchie said of his wife's party: "I paid for Madonna's 50th. And unless someone's prepared to pay the same amount for mine, it's unlikely to be as big.
He added: "I've thought less about my 40th birthday than almost any other birthday. I'm not sure if that's kind of an unconscious thing. But I have no plans. So I hope someone's organising something for me."
Gerard Butler, one of the stars of RocknRolla said Ritchie has kept quiet about his big day: "He didn't tell anybody. I'm thinking he doesn't want anybody to know he's that old."
It has been a good week for Ritchie whose latest Brit gangster flick has grabbed the top spot at the the UK box office, taking £1.6 million in its first three days.
However, the film has been slated by the critics, described by one as "a standard issue Ritchie thug movie."
Some reviews said Ritchie had failed to live up to his previous gangster films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
