Day charged with drink-driving

Actor and singer Darren Day has been charged with drink-driving.

The 39-year-old was pulled over by officers in Cardiff city centre in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Day was taken into custody before being released on bail.

A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: "A 39-year-old man was arrested in Custom House Street at around 2am Wednesday.

"He was arrested and charged with drink driving offences and was bailed to appear before Cardiff magistrates on July 2."

Day is appearing as Corneilius Hackl in a production of Hello, Dolly! at the city's New Theatre alongside former EastEnders star Anita Dobson.
