Updated 15.45 Mon Sep 01 2008
Young inventors in Japan are taking part in an international robot Olympiad.
More than 80 teams are taking part in the annual competition held in Tokyo.
The designs which are controlled by computer programmes were written by the youngsters and range from cars, to remote controlled devices that can collect ping pong balls.
The 24 teams that make it into the finals have until November to go back to the drawing board for last minute alterations.
