Diff and Dave reunited
A dog left stranded on a mountain has been rescued after a three-day ordeal.
Diff, a bull mastiff had been with his mountaineer owner, David Gibson and a friend on a climb in south-east Queensland, Australia when bad weather set in.
They had set off shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve, hoping to catch the year's first sunrise. Unfortunately Diff ran into trouble when he ventured on to a steep cliff ledge.
The men became stranded themselves after attempting to retrieve him.
Authorities began a search after the group failed to return on New Year's Day. Despite successfully locating the party, rescuers were forced to leave Diff behind because of the adverse conditions.
However on Thursday David and a team of climbers returned to winch his pooch off the mountain.
