Actress Gemma Atkinson will be raising awareness about the dangers of cooking after a night out in a new campaign.

The Hollyoaks actress is hoping to convince people to stay away from ovens, grills, chip pans and toasters if they've had a boozy night out on the town.

"We really want people to think twice about sticking on the grill or the oven when they get in after a night out" - Gemma Atkinson

Atkinson, 22, said: "We really want people to think twice about sticking on the grill or the oven when they get in after a night out and really learn to Eat Late, Eat Safe and use a microwave instead."

According to fire chiefs, thousands of revellers are injured or even killed every year while trying to cook after a night out.

Steve Beckley, assistant chief fire officer with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, said: "If you've had a few, don't cook or the next meal you have could be hospital food!"
