'Big Willie' braves chilly Legend premiere

Will Smith has braved the cold weather in London to greet cheering fans at the UK premiere of his latest film, I Am Legend.

Walking the red carpet alone in Leicester Square, the Hollywood star signed autographs and told waiting fans: "I just wanted to say thank you very much - it's cold out here but you've made my heart feel warm - thank you."

The 39-year-old added: "I'm very proud of this film, it's been very successful in the United States, so I hope you guys like it, and I think you will."

In I Am Legend, Smith plays the only survivor of a virus which wipes out New York.

The film opens in UK cinemas on Boxing Day.
