Hammers move for Gudjohnsen
West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson has confirmed he is in talks to sign former Chelsea player Eidur Gudjohnsen.
The Iceland international joined Barcelona a year ago but he has moved down the pecking order in Spain since Thierry Henry moved to the Nou Camp.
It is believed Gudjohnsen is available for £6.7 million but reports suggest the player's wage demands have put some clubs off.
Magnusson has hinted a deal could be struck but denied claims suggesting a fee has been agreed.
He said: "Talks are ongoing. We have not had an offer accepted by Barcelona, the papers are wrong."
Gudjohnsen spent eight seasons in England. He joined Bolton between 1998 and 2000, then played at Stamford Bridge for six years.
