Doherty plays at fan's funeral
Pete Doherty turned up to the wake of a fan and played a special performance with the boy's friend at a local pub.
The Babyshambles frontman became close to 16-year-old Daniel Squires, who died from bone cancer, after they met last year at one of the singer's concerts.
Doherty was so overcome by the death that he joined the boy's family and friends at the Golden Lion pub in South Tyneside, and took to the stage with his guitar, teaming up with one of the teenager's friends to pay tribute to Daniel.
Meanwhile, the former-Libertine has confirmed that his debut solo album will be released before the end of the year.
He is set to finish the record in a European studio with producer Jake Fior later this month.
Doherty is has also reportedly decided to have the ashes of his deceased cat Shelly made into a diamond ring, which he intends to proffer to ex-girlfriend, Kate Moss.
